Halloween Protein Bark

A fun way to balance Halloween candy with a high-protein treat is by making Protein Candy Bark! This recipe allows you to enjoy a sweet treat while keeping your protein intake up.

High-Protein Candy Bark

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla; choose one with high protein like Fage or Chobani)

  • Totally Optional: 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (depending on your flavor preference) We love Active Stacks & Thorne Health

  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter (optional for extra flavor and healthy fats)

  • A handful of Halloween candy (chop up mini-sized bars or pieces, like Snickers, Reese's, or M&Ms)

  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips (optional for drizzling)

  • Pinch of sea salt (to balance sweetness)

Directions:

  1. Mix the base: In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with the protein powder until smooth. You can also stir in peanut butter if you like that flavor combo.

  2. Spread the mixture: On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread the yogurt mixture into an even layer about ½ inch thick.

  3. Add candy: Sprinkle your chopped-up Halloween candy evenly over the yogurt mixture.

  4. Drizzle chocolate: If using, melt the dark chocolate chips and drizzle over the top.

  5. Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze for about 1-2 hours, or until the bark is firm.

  6. Break and serve: Once frozen, break the bark into pieces and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Protein Boost: You can add more protein by sprinkling on some chopped nuts or seeds.

  • Candy Control: Use the candy as a topping rather than mixing it in, so you can control how much goes into each piece.

This recipe keeps the treat portion small while giving you a satisfying, high-protein snack. Would this fit into your plan for mindful Halloween treats?
